1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SurgAtlas ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

SurgAtlas is a surgical education platform designed to assist medical professionals and students with surgical learning and examination preparation, with a primary focus on MRCS Part A and MRCS Part B. The Platform includes structured educational content, active-recall and revision tools, question practice, and account-based learning features.

SurgAtlas offers a free access tier with selected learning content, active recall, and core study tools. Paid plans such as SurgAtlas Pro may provide additional features including the complete curriculum, advanced adaptive revision, and AI-powered exam-practice products. AI use is not included in the free tier unless SurgAtlas expressly offers a separate promotional trial.

3. Medical Disclaimer

Important: SurgAtlas is an educational tool intended for study and examination preparation. Content — including AI-generated responses, clinical notes, and case scenarios — is not medical advice and must not be used as a substitute for professional clinical judgement, current authoritative guidance, or local policy. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. Always verify clinical information against appropriate authoritative sources before applying it in patient care.

4. User Accounts

You must register for an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure; scrape, copy, or redistribute content without prior written permission; use AI tools to generate content intended to deceive or harm others; share your account credentials with third parties; or use automated scripts or bots to access the Platform in a way that is not expressly permitted.

6. Intellectual Property

Original SurgAtlas content, including text, original diagrams, interface elements, and educational materials, is protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Some materials displayed on the Platform may be owned by third parties and remain the property of their respective rights holders. Unless a separate licence states otherwise, Platform content is provided for personal, non-commercial study and may not be reproduced or redistributed without permission.

7. AI-Powered Features

AI-powered features are available only to accounts and plans that include AI access. SurgAtlas may use third-party AI service providers to deliver these features. AI responses are generated dynamically and may not always be accurate, complete, or up to date. Reasonable usage limits may apply to protect service availability and manage variable provider costs.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SurgAtlas and its creator(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Registered users will be notified of material changes where appropriate. Continued use of the Platform after revised terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those revised terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply under applicable law.
